The Obligatory Weight Loss Post

14 May

Every (well if not every, pretty must almost all) brides-to-be seem to be on some kind of diet/weight loss plan. I’m not going to lie, I’d like to lose weight before my wedding day too.

But my weight loss journey started about 3 years ago and it’s a life long change that I want to make. I’m not after losing a few temporary pounds. 3 years ago I was 14st 7lbs and a size 16/18. 3 years on I’ve lost 3st 2lbs so far but I still have some way to go.

Funny how losing weight gives you so much more confidence to do things you’d never dream of trying before. For instance… pole dancing. Yes, I pole dance, every Wednesday night. And I bloomin’ love it!

Ideally I’d like to be somewhere around the 10st mark. The how? Healthy eating + exercise + a very supportive partner. I need all three and wouldn’t be able to do this without each side of the triangle. Although recently I’ve plateaued a bit and my eating habits have gone a ‘bit’ skew iff, so I’m trying a new exercise plan to help me break through.

Yes, the program and presenter are as gungo ho American as the name suggests. Today is day 01… of 20 weeks! God help me, but I’m going to stick to it as much as I can. Fingers crossed I’ll be down another stone by the end of it, hoorah!

How it all began

Another wedding blog? And quite rightly so! I think every bride-to-be needs an avenue to indulge, vent, rejoice and scream from the comfort of her own laptop. The wedding’s probably 2 years away, but the proposal was only 2 weeks ago. Yup, I’m as fresh (and probably naive as they come), but I’m determined to plan ahead so that I don’t end up breaking the bank!

So shall I start with a story? I like stories. Kim and I had been together for just over 5 years (for the record I chased after him!) Then on a beautiful sunny day in Kyoto (we were on holiday in Japan) he proposed in the gardens of Nijo Castle.

Monday 23rd April 2012 marked the day I said ‘yes’.
